Grains of Light

When darkness falls,
The stars shine through,
Illuminating the night,
With diamond beauty.

Where rain storms come,
Rearranging the land,
Every blade of grass,
Bears jewels of light.

Dark clouds bring shadows,
Painting somber shading,
Before shards of light,
Shine Heaven’s joy.

As tears of pain,
Cleanse the eyes of illusion,
Restoring heart’s vision,
Unto the traveling soul.

While cold winds come,
Bringing chill to the body,
Causing arms to seek,
A warm heart’s glow.

Life brings us trials,
Taking health and peace,
Causing us to seek,
The Most Healing Hand.

Love’s meaning brings,
Life’s limitless power,
From faith as small,
As a grain of sand.

Piercing of The Veil

Energy, which can neither be created or destroyed, is known to
have the potential of piercing through our physical reality to others recognized
by physics or theoretical physics.  Likewise, love is an energy which may pierce
through the physical world to the spiritual.  This has been felt by people of
faith throughout time since the greatest act of love not only pierced the veil,
but tore it in half.

This world is an illusion,
Just a veil before our eyes,
A persistent illusion for certain,
As Einstein himself once described,
For he told us all matter is energy,
Atoms being mostly empty space,
Confirming a truth about love,
Which Jesus once spoke in this place.

Jesus said what we do for others,
Are things being done unto Him,
For this convincing veil of reality,
With love becomes paper thin,
When this energy pours from the heart,
Actions of love will pierce through,
To God creating life from the start,
Confirming what is real and true.

When the piercing comes from His hand,
We see miracles occur in our lives,
For His magic flows through our weak hands,
What seemed impossible comes true in our eyes,
We may feel lost past the veil in the darkness,
Though the stars confirm truth in the night,
For fear is the illusion in darkness,
The clear truth is we are found in His light.

The great gift you can give in living,
Is the gift given without regard to your pain,
When you reach out in spite of your sufferings,
The life He pours upon you is gain,
For God’s own Son took joy in His suffering,
Saving our lives being the result of the plan,
Tearing the dark veil between God and us,
Through the piercing love placed in His hands.

The Angel Flight - For Memorial Day 2015

"Come on brother, I am taking you home." - C130 Angel Flight transmission.

My father is a hero,
As all fathers really are.
Some work from 9 to 5,
Others work as stars.
My Dad has worked a job,
That many did before.
He took the time he spent from us,
So he could fight a war.

Sleeping under stars above,
He spent many nights.
With his brothers brave or scared,
Tired from the fight.
It did not matter how he felt,
He did what he should do.
That he always thought of us,
Somehow pulled him through.

Today he is coming home,
Beneath the red sunlight.
I was there to meet with him,
Coming down from his flight.
I ran to get as close to him,
As I only could.
Both our souls did embrace,
Kept separate by the wood.

The only way he made it home,
Was on the Angel flight.
Carried in the arms of our souls,
Away from his last fight.
He gave us all he had to give,
So we could all be free.
Though I missed my time with him,
He gave his life to me.

The men that brought him to us,
Did not need to speak.
They said what words could not say,
And in my pain I never blinked.
They brought him home as they should,
To be back in our hands.
Though his heart took off with them,
His soul would never land.

As I look into the glass,
I see his face today.
Standing from the mirror back,
I wonder what he would say.
Though I was a boy back then,
I think I felt God’s plan.
I was given to him as a child,
So he could raise a man.

Nothing Left - Nepal Earthqake of 4/25/2015

In the first days it was a time where you would realize that family members
were buried in debris, along with most of the equipment which could help you free them.

Now comes the time when more deaths will occur due to lack of food and clean water contributing
to the effects of exposure and disease that will spread due to all of the dead in this terrible tragedy.

I wrote this to encourage each of you to reach out through the
Red Cross, through your churches, and through prayer to help the
people of Nepal and surrounding areas in this most devastating of tragedies.

Reality in ruin,
All that we are,
All that we were,
Now just a dream,
For we have awaken,
To the cold light of day,
With nothing to say,
For all is now gone.

With bare hands I dig,
With family cries fading,
Inside the tomb of rubble.

Family and friends,
Now brought to end,
Wandering the streets,
Nothing left to eat,
No roads left in,
There is no way out,
Now left alone,
With no place called home.

With my hands I dig,
With family cries fading,
Inside the tomb of destruction.

We are what we were,
You are what you do,
We all need each other,
And now we need you,
From the dawn of time,
All hands each in kind,
For we will rise above,
Through your acts of love.

The Western Wind

The sun rises on wild spirits,
Where the mountains touch the sky,
Eagle soars upon morning breeze,
A quiet land sets heart at ease,
As life begins to awaken.

A man sets his face to the wind,
Ready to make the day work,
As the west wind is heard,
Speaking truth without words,
Setting meaning firm in heart.

For life is not an easy thing,
Yet God gives us each a strength,
For all the work of our hands,
As part of His plans,
Makes us more each day.

Underneath the western skies,
Good men and women stand tall,
Where the Spirit of America sings,
With freedom’s bell still ringing,
Find purpose under the stars.

We gather together as neighbors,
For no one out here is a stranger,
Red blood runs in us all,
Together we are standing tall,
Making futures strong forever.

I will never lack anything,
For all things that matter are near,
God gave me a wonderful wife,
With our daughter a beautiful life,
My spirit sings in the western wind.

Brittle Branches

Brittle branches hang above me in the sky below the moon,
I'm afraid the winter's ending and the spring will come too soon,
The ashen light of snowy chill walks with me as a friend,
With whispers spoken to my heart that love begins again.

The winter whispers of a warmth to gently fill the air,
With colors green and scented notes for me to fully share,
A pilot light to fire the flame within my aching heart,
A fire to guide me soul from here back to the very start.

Though snowy storm has separated ways from you and I,
Your footprints in the white show clear beneath the dismal sky,
I’ll follow footstep trail in search unto the truthful end,
And yet the trail circles back just to begin again.

Aging,
Enraging,
Entwined,
With time,
Entangled,
Not mangled,
With graying,
Mind fraying,
This song,
Is life,
It’s long,
Unending,
Our souls,
Befriending,
With minds,
At ease,
We’re notes,
In the breeze.

For days of sunshine pass us by with nothing much foretold,
Such laughter just a passing breath on path to growing old,
I cling to truth within this life and I am not undone,
For to share this life with such as you holds me forever young.
