What Will You Do?

I wrote this because one person has the power to change the world. For example Marie Salomea Skłodowska Curie discovered radioactivity which would later bring power to regions all over the world. One man, Vladimir Putin decided to change the world by invading Ukraine and threatening western countries with nuclear destruction.

Today I decided to take these words in my heart and share them with you, to inspire each one of you to make a difference through love in your way. Perhaps one of you who is as musically inclined as I am not, can take these words and put them to song in a way that could inspire thousands.  So what will you do?

What will you do,

While the bombs are falling,

With injured children calling,

No one to dry their tears.

What will you do,

While darkness is reigning,

While all hope is draining,

In the abyss of fear?

When God made us all,

He had a perfect plan.

The greatest power is love,

And he put it in your hands.

Though we have never met,

I will inspire your compassion,

Leading to great actions,

For words are the start.

Planting seeds of hope,

Which will grow in your hands,

As you reach out in plan,

To heal another’s heart.

When God made us all,

He had a perfect plan.

The greatest power is love,

And he put it in your hands.

You say what can one person do,

Yet one person lit the nights,

One person dreamed of flight,

And now we reach the stars.

That’s where faith joins the heart,

And the impossible can happen,

Starting a human chain reaction,

Touching souls near and far.

When God made us all,

He had a perfect plan.

The greatest power is love,

And he put it in your hands.

Sons of Ukraine

Born of the womb,

They are seekers of hearts,

With fire in their eyes,

Strength in their hands,

Protectors of families,

Each one a man,

Fathers and brothers,

Sons under the sun,

They labor with joy,

For love is the reason,

Providing all they can give,

To those in their hearts.

They are quick to smile,

Slow to anger,

Givers of laughter,

Embraces of comfort,

Drying the tears,

From the pains of life,

With no greater joy,

Than the women of life,

Which gave them  love and family,

Purpose and reason,

Finding their place,

With faith in God.

They kiss them goodbye,

Near the trains and buses,

Sending family to safety,

Like the men of the Titanic,

Yet they take up arms,

In the fight for life,

For the rockets are flying,

The bullets are flying,

Their history is burning,

Yet their families have a chance,

Their country has a chance,

To live once again.

For love is greater than life,

They would give their lives for love,

For there is no greater gift,

Since love is the letting go of fear,

Love is the unbreakable bond,

Uniting us all once again.

Children

The Russians bombed this theater, probably after being told it was a Nazi bomb factory, even though it was clearly marked that children were hiding there.  It is still unknown how many were killed.

(I pray that every Russian pilot can look into the eyes of a child up close, because that is who their targets are.)

Our children are a treasure,

The future of our cultures,

The future of our country,

A gift to our hearts.

A reflection of our souls,

With reflection on our lives,

They take the love which we give,

So they can have a start.

They are our reason for living,

An investment beyond gold,

For all souls are eternal,

And in them we are young.

They reap the strength of love,

Though they pay the price of hate,

When war rains from the skies,

Their song remains unsung.

Putin’s special operation,

Saw their sign from the sky,

Dropping terror upon them,

Brought tears to every eye.

For some have surely lived,

Some have surely died,

Each one paying a price,

For an agenda he devised.

They do not understand,

The reason for their pain,

They have innocent love,

And so much to gain.

Their lives changed forever,

By what one man wrought,

Destroying their homes,

To fulfill a pointless plot.

We stand outside of time,

 We stand inside this world,

We choose to stand together,

God seeing us from above.

For the sake of their young eyes,

For the sake of all our children,

Against hate we stand in truth,

So that there is only love.

Shades of Gray

(This was written on a day without sunshine.)

This can bring out the color,

Of a woman’s eyes.

Resonate the depth,

Of her sighs.

Emphasize the light,

Within her tears.

And roll back the age,

Of her years.

When the sun rolls behind the clouds of the day,

I am thankful to see beauty through shades of gray.

It’s for awakening the birds,

That wish to sing.

It will stir up echoes,

Of the Spring.

It is bringing out the colors,

Of the trees.

It gives a peaceful cooling touch,

To the breeze.

When the sun rolls behind the clouds of the day,

I am thankful to see life through shades of gray.

Sometimes I feel tired,

From the traveled miles.

The years have brought wisdom,

In facing many trials.

Yet I am young and strong,

By the light of your heart.

True strength comes from love,

Where faith has its start.

When the sun rolls behind the clouds of the day,

I thank God that the flame of life,

Shines through shades of gray.

Reflections of Peace

 Where is God,
When the innocent are dying,
When the missiles are falling,
And lives are destroyed?

He is in our words,

As we join together,

He is in our actions,

In the help deployed.

Some make choices,

Spending lives like money,

Dictators of terror,

Like Putin we face.

Yet one can not stand,

Against the world united,

And God all powerful,

Will put him in his place.

This is a time of testing,

Of all our deepest beliefs,

A time of proving,

Truths tried and true.

For in such ways,

In the face of tragedy,

The very next miracle,

Could come through you.

We can drive ourselves crazy,

Asking why things like this happen,

Never hearing an answer,

Through the long dark night.

Yet with the gift of a day,

We can ask how we can use it,

And through choices of love,

Bathe the world in God’s light.

Things seem overwhelming,

Many things seem beyond scope,

Begging the question,

What can one person do?

Asking myself the same,

Led to these reflections of peace,

And my determined choice,

To tell them to you.

Woman’s Day 2022

Written March 8th and shared, for all of the women we in our lives.

In the beginning,

The world was without color,

Then God created man,

Yet the world was without color,

Then God created woman,

And the world was filled with color,

Colors which could be heard,

The colors of song,

Colors of the wind,

 Colors of the heart.

God gave man strength,

With woman by his side,

God gave man purpose,

With love giving power,

With the heart giving vision,

For she opens his eyes,

To the beauty of living,

To the joy of loving,

With her by his side,

He sees the music of love.

She is standing by his side,

As they defend their land,

They are standing for their country,

Supporting their men without rest,

These daughters of Ukraine,

They are love and hope,

As you are my love and hope,

Keeping me strong,

Forever joyful,

The light of my life.
