What Is

Where is what is,
When we are blinded by the night,
Only seeing what is present,
In today’s sunlight?
Yesterday is hidden,
From the perception of our eyes,
While today is but a moment,
Underneath the passing skies.

We leave our homes each morning,
To battle windmills in the fields,
Though we can not see them,
Our homes remain real.
We find our homes again,
At the start of every night,
Though not visible in the distance,
They are found by faith’s light.

God‘s vision does not need,
The suns imperfect rays,
All our days are clear before him,
His heart sees clear always.
Our hearts feel those gone before,
As if they were here today,
For the truth through time’s illusion,
Is they never went away.

Standing on this ancient ground,
Where the Padres raised their prayers,
Their voices heard with ours,
For the mission is still there.
All things past and future,
Are seen as one from up above,
And time’s illusion falls away,
When we see through love.

Mirror, Mirror

 It has been said,
 This world is a reflection,
 A shadowy image,
 Of things to come.
 A parallel of beauty,
 Another dimension,
 With time no more,
 Through God's own son.

 For time rules all,
 That live and breathe,
 Walking this green earth,
 And through the sky.
 In withering change,
 Some doors do close,
 Yet when souls leave,
 There is no goodbye.

 Her force is strong,
 Her love is true,
 Her hand in God's,
 Throughout her life.
 I feel her strength,
 And I see her eyes,
  Through those she loves,
 Both mother and wife.

 She walks in beauty,
 In God's pure light,
 In the same space,
 We walk and breathe.
 Past an unseen wall,
 Too close to touch,
 Which the eyes can't  find,
  Yet the heart does see.

 A moment is forever,
 And forever is a moment,
 Beyond Earth's illusion,
 In truth she lives.
 For there is no goodbye,
 And no separation,
 Through the power of love,
 Which God gives.

The Dream

A face appearing,
A gentle touch,
Not to the fingers,
And upon the heart,
Here within the timeless,
A second is forever,
Here with your heart,
Beating within mine,
A reflection of Heaven,
Resting beyond change,
Where time is absurdity,
And love binds all to one,
For in the waking world,
Of fears and illusions,
Chasing ghosts of promise,
Our tears will come forth,
Yet a tear becomes a lens,
Bending the light of darkness,
Breaking the light of illusion,
Bringing truth unto the heart,
For God made these lenses,
Water to join with others,
A binding between our hearts,
Fused by fire of His love,
The dream then becomes real,
As the world becomes illusion,
With our souls held safe eternal,
By His hand above.

A Prayer - In Celebration of the Life of James Sutera

For the time I knew him, it was like I had the time
back with my own Dad.  For my wife, he gave the finest complements
to her driving as we went to the Sutera family picnics together.  For you,
something entirely different and special.  And if you are not part of this family,
and have lost someone special, may this prayer apply to that life continuing through
your heart.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Grant me daily strength as you did for him,
The strength to work hard at anything,
To provide for my family’s needs,
And give my children a good life.

Dear Lord God,
Grant me the wisdom of discernment,
As you did for him,
That I can face problems without fear,
And those close could trust me to help them,
As I walk in faith with you.

Dear Precious Lord,
I am far from perfect,
Learning and growing each day,
Dealing with mistakes as he did,
Give me patience that I might fix my errors,
And be a better person.

Dear Holy Father,
Love is the basis for all things,
Though I try to remain strong as he did,
May my actions convey love as he did,
So that  my family and friends have hope,
No matter the circumstance of life,

Dear God,
I am not making Jim to be a saint,
For when he accepted your Son it was done,
And in his errors and attributes he was human,
And the best of that shown though his life,
So may his light shine on through our hearts.

Eternal

Mystery,
The magic is to me,
Not knowing all to be,
Revealing in time by love to me,
Magically.

Meaningful,
For love is magical,
Joy and pain in life are integral,
With heart solutions true and full,
Beautiful.

Powerfully,
Each soul is wild and free,
Touching sky to wings for all to see,
Nesting nightly in the tallest trees,
Beautifully.

Temporal,
In a space of time we fall,
Yet life’s sweet song surrounds us all,
Hearts living on to sing love’s call,
Eternal.

Never in Heaven

It struck me that one thing we can do on Earth, which we will never do in Heaven, is left someone up.  We will never have that pleasure there as no one will be down again.  How many wonderful things there are which we can do now, if we count each day a blessing to use!

You cannot lift someone up,
Where no one will ever be down,
Experiencing wonderful joy,
Of bringing such strength,
To bring someone through,
The darkness.

We will no longer be learning,
Where all things are known,
Surrounded by beauty in truth,
In wisdom walking through wonders,
Fantasy fulfillment of joy,
In light.

Helping the sick will be history,
As history becomes fulfilled,
With all sickness and pain departing,
Perfect health and happiness imparting,
From the hand of the Heart of Life,
In God.

Expectation’s excitement,
Becomes fulfilled in fullness,
For all good things that could be,
Live forever where they should,
With accomplishment accomplished,
In fullness.

Here on Earth is opportunity,
To add to the treasure of forever,
For Paradise is more than we can see,
Imagination beyond the reach of joy,
For there is much we can do here,
Though never in Heaven.

Transcending Light

We are never alone,
Time passing through time,
As we mark the changes,
In this veil of illusion,
We mark the chapters,
Yet are they really there?
For there are no chapters,
In the song of life.

God sees us on Earth,
So alive in his love,
We choose to embrace,
The one true God,
Yet when leaving Earth,
We never leave His sight,
For He sees the past as now,
And then we are with Him,
We move from life on Earth,
To life realized in perfection,
And the song never ends.

I see our souls moving,
Colors in motion,
Passing within and above,
Each adding to another,
Each color growing,
Changing in beauty,
Never loosing character,
For we each touch another,
Life upon life,
Love upon love,
Shining God's light.
