“Home”

I have been all around this beautiful world,

Near and far from my front door.

I have ridden a boat beneath the earth,

And been where Jesus walked before.

I have gone to sleep on mountain tops,

I have awoken beside the sea.

And yet the place I truly call home,

Is where you are lying next to me.

I can fall asleep into your sighs,

Wherever we may roam.

When I awake within your eyes,

It is the place that I call home.

Confusion may grip the world,

With times of war and strife.

Perhaps the ones who play that game,

Forgot the truths of love and life.

It is hard for me to be afraid,

Though I know the truth of all I see.

I have all the strength I’ll ever need,

With you standing next to me.

I can fall asleep into your sighs,

Wherever we may roam.

When I awake within your eyes,

It is the place that I call home.

Many feel there is no God,

Some have told me to my face.

Yet there is no strong man that I know,

Who hurled the stars up into space.

You see the heart can see truth,

More than the eyes will ever know.

And that is how I feel at home,

Wherever I may go.

I can fall asleep into your sighs,

Wherever we may roam.

When I awake within your eyes,

It is the place that I call home.
