The Heart’s Open Door

When the crickets sing their ballad,
And the stars come fill the sky,
It can set a man’s heart soaring,
And never wondering why,
Because the mysteries of the mind,
Are fully known to the heart,
When passion joins these two as one,
Magic gets its start.

The clouds of doubt fall away,
When you look at me,
Without a word between us said,
Our hearts are set free,
A moment and a lifetime,
Become one and the same,
Time stops and forever comes,
Like a gentle summer rain.

From the streams down to the ocean,
Through the air up to the sky,
Falling down like life rain,
Or the teardrops from my eyes,
The energy of love,
Just comes around again,
Through the heart’s open door,
The secret of God’s plan.

Tears will come as they must,
Which is just life’s way,
To use our pain and sorrows,
For strength another day,
To lift another life up,
That is met along the way,
For God did not leave us,
To struggle on our own,
Every smile we see does say,
We were never left alone.

On this night together,
Beneath the same old stars,
There is never space between us,
You are never truly far,
And if faith is just the knowledge,
Of things we can not see,
Just shut your eyes and see inside,
Yours I will always be.

From the streams down to the ocean,
Through the air up to the sky,
Falling down like life rain,
Or the teardrops from my eyes,
The energy of love,
Just comes around again,
Through the heart’s open door,
The secret of God’s plan.
