The Cost of Joy

The scope of love is endless,
 As is the human heart.
There can be no true ending,
When one cannot find the start.
 Yet free will is present,
Which makes love require a choice.
 No heart can be conquered,
When the actions match the voice.

There is a key to happiness,
 No secret to employ.
Investing into other hearts,
 Is the cost of joy.

 Joy is not entitled,
There are decisions and hard work.
 The sweat of focused effort,
 Behind every smile lurks.
 Because happiness can’t happen,
 Unless it is desired.
 For happiness is fueled,
From the heat of passion’s fire.

There is a key to happiness,
 No secret to employ.
Investing into other hearts,
 Is the cost of joy.

 This is not a condition,
This is a way of life.
This is the bond of fire,
 Between a man and wife.
 This is the gentle healing,
That cures each hurt and pain.
This is the way of life,
Which never leaves one the same.

There is a key to happiness,
 No secret to employ.
Investing into other hearts,
 Is the cost of joy.

The path bears all the imprints,
 Of legendary hearts.
All the nameless and the named,
 To whom love did impart.
 The meaning and the joys,
Of the endless song of living,
The great effort towards this joy,
Is to never stop giving.

There is a key to happiness,
 No secret to employ.
Investing into other hearts,
 Is the cost of joy.

Transference

The heart is a river,
 Through which creation flows,
 Words and actions done,
Blow through the air like leaves,
 Person to person,
 From each blows many,
 Affecting lives around them,
 Through joy or through pain.

 For just a single word,
Can inspire a life of confidence,
A choice from freedom of will,
To lead a life of peace,
 Not in worry about others,
Knowing God has all in hand,
Others feeling this strength in turn,
 Reciprocating joy and peace.

For free will is the key,
 Unlocking beauty of the heart,
As the artist must be willing,
To pick up his or her brush,
To choose a palette of joy,
Field with the colors of life,
From the heart then flows a picture,
Either of pain or of joy.

For just a smile given to one,
 Is often seen by many,
And turn one of those souls,
 From a darkened day,
 Who would have planted seeds,
 Of anger from her pain,
 Turning many hearts to darkness,
And one smile brings light again.

 Every moment is a universe,
 And every decision a timeline,
 Affecting time and space,
From free will in just one place,
An action or a word of love,
 Spreading light like a fire,
 For transference is a power,
 Bringing meaning back to life.

The Circle

 Love gives birth to wisdom,
As Job loved life beyond measure,
With millennia till planets were seen,
He said the Earth was hung upon nothing.

 Wisdom gives birth to love,
Knowing the narrow balance of conditions,
Within which we walk and breathe,
Creates love for the miracle of life.

 Allowing our souls to connect,
 Carrying sound through the air,
Bringing words to the heart,
In the energy of love.

 Wisdom and love bring sorrow,
 When the heart becomes awakened,
 Nothing may remain hidden,
 Deepening the awareness of being.

Sorrow brings the coming of joy,
For the living heart will seek it,
 Creating from deepened appreciation,
Adding fullness to the song of life.

 Love is endlessly strengthened,
In the circle larger than reality,
 Transcending death and life,
Beyond thoughts the mind can know.

Teacher of Riddles

This morning at Starbucks I conversed with a woman that brought in a service dog, and an old Italian from the Bronx. We spoke of nonverbal communication, and That inspired me to write this.  The image by the way is a stock photo, but I like what it expresses.

 The heart sees no absurdity,
 For all is in truth,
 Knowing no words to express,
 Four words lose their illusion,
And when the eyes of the heart are open,
 The soul receives true light.

 Even nature understands this truth,
  Spoken thought being and absurdity,
And a dog can look into your eyes,
To know the truth of who you are,
And if our hearts are so much wiser,
Who are we to choose not to listen?

A good teacher teaches in the pictures,
Using words has the colors of his brush,
And though the students are learning,
The teacher becomes the greatest student,
In the eyes of those who are listening,
Vision of the soul becomes clear.

The mysteries of tragedy go on answered,
While the tragedy of love is ignorance,
For if the distractions of the world are silenced,
The heart feeds the soul true wisdom,
And though a tear may come time to time,
True joy will never be conquered.

To Share a Smile

How do you put into words,
That which cannot be spoken?
How do you paint a clear picture,
With sounds that flow from the mind?
Thought unto thought,
Feeling unto feeling,
Two souls with experience,
Know all through the eyes.

Strangers become friends,
Through the strength of a smile,
I smile becomes a river,
Flowing out among souls,
One conveys to ten,
And ten reach out to hundreds,
Restoring joy to the hopeless,
Replacing hopelessness with peace.

Energy is never destroyed,
Energy is never created,
Yet the energy of love,
Knows no such rules,
For this is why the stars,
And the Earth was created,
Because it was that important,
To choose to show love.

The Girl With The Flower

For a friend facing much.

In the realm of possibilities,
There are no true exceptions,
For all things may happen,
Seemingly without reason,
Bringing darkness for a season,
And with it pain.

Through truth,
We doubt,
No truth,
Will shout,
Through fear,
To ears,
Not hearing.

Life is possibility,
As all things are of energy,
And energy is from love,
In creation from the heart,
Which God’s faith did impart,
With power beyond comprehension,
To His children.

We have power,
For this hour,
To see clear,
All that’s dear,
For through knowing,
We are showing,
What is truth.

Our minds bend reality,
Through the strength of passion,
And the force of our will,
In the work of our hands,
Though our hands seem meek,
And our hearts grow weak,
In Him we are strong.

We will not fail,
Though we seem frail,
Do not give in,
To illusions of grief,
For testing is brief,
In eternity’s true reflection,
Casts away all deception.

It is the girl with the flower,
That is the strongest of them all,
For her strength is of the heart,
And she goes forth in stride,
Her love is her pride,
Handing beauty and strength,
To another soul.
