The Six Dollar Savior

I was just in a store,
It was Costco I believe,
Just getting some staples,
And wanting to leave,
It was a long day,
With much on my mind,
My work had been done,
I wanted to unwind,
Then I saw the two,
Walking side by side,
Together with age,
Standing with pride,
In their 90’s they were,
In love to the hilt,
Hearts remaining strong,
Though bodies did wilt,
They went to check out,
With just vegetables and fruit,
Just some food to survive,
To good health did suit,
Yet not enough money,
The cashier did report,
For the few things they bought,
They were six dollars short,
She was anxious in line,
They were taken aback,
Then the cashier did say,
Which item to give back,
When a lady came forward,
To help them pull through,
It was not much needed,
And this fact she knew,
She gave the six dollars,
To their surprise,
With thanks from the heart,
Seen deep in their eyes,
Many did see this,
Along with myself,
And saw a true picture,
Of what is real wealth,
May they step forward,
Next time there is need,
May love win this world,
Planted in many hearts,
From this good seed.

Life

I have written about it in hundreds of different ways to thousands of people to learn how much I truly do not know.

Footprints in the Clouds - For Kasia Markiewicz

On a music competition show known as Voice of Poland,
there was a contestant named Kasia who got one single judge to
turn around on her qualification song.  This in itself was not very
remarkable.  She came to the show after loosing the fight with cancer
and being told that nothing more could be done.  That was beyond brave.
Two days later she died, never getting a chance to proceed with the competition.
Before that happened she said that it took cancer for her to realize how valuable and
how beautiful life truly is.  She looked into the camera and said, "Get off of your couches and
go do something wonderful with life!"  In her words of truth she made us realize how much life is a
gift, and how no one really knows how much time there is.  This poem is now dedicated to the bravest woman that I think my wife and I will ever have known.
 Stance,
Dance,
Circumstance,
We spin our way through life,
Sun,
Fun,
On the run,
Yet trading joy for strife.
In search of getting plenty,
So often with out any,
Can what we chase,
Ever replace,
What flies away,
With every day?

Rain,
Pain,
And disdain,
As things become undone,
Words,
Heard,
Choices absurd,
Just adding to the fun.
We give up far too soon,
When the dark side of the moon,
Hides from sight,
With cover of night,
Our brightness,
From the sun.

Reel,
Kneel,
And just plain feel,
What rightfully is ours,
Go,
Slow,
And you will know,
That rain blesses the flowers,
Chose what you will feel,
Then create and make it real,
So rise and be,
That others may see,
Your footprints in the clouds.

A Symphony of Sound

A symphony of sound,
Is life’s composition,
Instruments around us,
Made of vibrating strings,
Particles of energy,
Stretching intertwining,
With each bound together,
Spinning with motion,
As we spin with commotion,
We are bound in our ways,
We are numbered in our days,
With free will choices,
Adding to creation,
We change all around us,
Just by observation,
With imagination’s power,
Ideas begin to flower,
And we add to life’s flavor,
Creating from emotion,
As passion drives our choices,
Affected by near voices,
Some for and against,
But there is no pretense,
For with the eyes of the heart,
We see through the veil,
Each with feigned strength,
Yet we all are so frail,
At times confounding others,
Yet with agreement in the goal,
We each can be made whole,
With the choice avoiding anger,
Seeing all clear,
Knowing what is dear,
We overcome impossible,
Through love.

Ripples

I saw this duck in the river by where I work.
What was in the water around him felt the ripples,
Even though they knew not from where they came.
When I sat down, what I wrote took less than a minute.

From where I work,
I could see her,
From where I earn,
She shone in the sun,
Upon the waters moving,
Fine black feathers ,
And a bill,
Bobbing her head,
Into the waters,
Looking for food,
Making ripples,
Making her way,
The waves went out,
Touching the fish,
Affecting the living,
Though the source,
They knew not,
Still affected,
In what they do,
Just like me,
And all of you,
For what we say,
Affects unseen,
Lives not met,
And faces unknown,
For Paul gave proof,
As he met a few,
And wrote some letters,
Yet what he did,
Helped change the world.

The Spirit

The dove like cloud formation began to dissipate a bit by the time I scrambled for a camera phone from a co-worker.  I saw it over the ground like green landscape with the image of the one dead tree in the center below.
The dove cloud made me think of the Holy Spirit watching over the green life of the Earth, guiding us through situations of grief or death, and the stones hovering above the ground symbolize situations for me which seemed an almost miraculous protection from harm.

Above us,
Within us,
Through us,
Transcending all,
One mind,
In many places,
Pure love,
To many faces,
Reason for safety,
When reason is gone,
Saving in circumstance,
A light in the darkness,
A bond between souls,
Bringing words,
In wordless moments,
Bringing courage,
Where fear is king,
Teaching love,
When love is not easy,
The direction,
Without a compass,
Through the storm,
To safe shores,
All from God,
Who is in Heaven,
For we are many,
And how can He,
Be with many,
If He,
Is only one?
It is the truth,
Within the word,
He sent His son,
So we can hear it,
And when He left,
He gave the Spirit.

Life Within Life

On the way home tonight my wife told me that newlyweds in IL stopped to help
an overturned car after leaving the wedding service.  While William Knight was helping a
woman away from her overturned car, another woman drove into them killing
the motorist and the new groom leaving the bride alone.  For Nikki Knight, I wrote this for strength.  For others, I wrote this for hope and joy.

A gathering of souls,
Amidst the infinite,
A gathering of hearts,
Against the dark,
Our lines of time define,
Expressing journeys of life,
Expecting yearning of soul,
As we strive to fulfill,
Learning truth and meaning,
In each other’s eyes,
Open for a moment,
That other eyes look in,
Closing once again,
To turn to returning,
Yet once open always,
The time line is always,
Though gone from our sight,
Quantum barriers arise,
And we cannot observe,
Those eyes once known,
Yet the power to observe,
Proves only the visible,
As heat unseen,
Can be felt on the skin,
And lives unseen,
Are felt by the heart,
For they are still lives,
And the power of love,
Bridges barriers of time,
Bringing touchless embrace,
Laughter without sound,
And a song through silence,
With voices become light,
Shining through each other,
Joining our hearts in music,
As a universe of stars.
