Nice!
I just had a thought….Do you have any that you have done that would fit this situation—my uncle is dying from cancer and marrying his longtime girlfriend tomorrow night…I would love to take one of your poems and put it on a nice background in a frame to include in their present.

Thank you,
Christy

The response will follow the poem...

She brought light to my eyes,
With the touch of her hand,
Her smile fills my heart,
More than I understand,
On our journeys we met,
Our paths crossed and we became one.

Then the world came alive,
As seen through the heart,
And the music began,
For it had a fresh start,
Now the truth is alive,
Since what love makes can’t be undone.

We are born once again,
In each other’s arms,
For one look at her,
And forever I’m charmed,
It was since the first glance,
It was blessing not chance,
And I asked her,
Can I have this dance.

Though trials we will see,
And hardships do come,
What love binds secure,
Can not be undone,
When life’s race has past,
Our souls bear the victories won.

For when sickness came,
Which the body can’t bear,
God’s love gave us strength,
And her heart chose to share,
For though she could go,
She said , “For you I’ll always be there”.

We were born once again,
In each other’s arms,
In the strength of her arms,
I feel free of all harm,
With our rings we confirm,
It was blessing not chance,
So may all know,
We are having this dance.

All of life makes a song,
Carried forth by the wind,
As new souls come in birth,
Again and again,
Adding voice to the music,
The rhythm which all hearts sing.

This song is forever,
Heard in our hearts,
It first came from God,
In the love he imparts,
It is the gift of life,
And the love that we all bring.

We are all born again,
In each other’s arms,
The strength we can share,
Is our beauty and charm,
May our union of love,
Touch hearts for life to enhance,
So may all share,
In our having this dance.

The Lonely Cowboy

I can see them in the valley,
The cowboys are on their ride,
Orange skies above them,
My heart is filled with pride,
They know their way,
They’re here to stay.

For this here land did call us,
We heard it in our hearts,
We each did leave the city,
For here to make our mark,
In this wide land,
We made our stand.

The song is on the wind,
That bears our spirits high,
The wilderness brings freedom,
Which is the reason why,
This life we enjoy
And I am,
The Lonely Cowboy.

From the time the sun rises,
Making a living from the land,
In thanks for each day we see,
And strength given to our hands,
For our children,
And what we give them.

From my hill the story flows,
Like the river down below,
They’re riding hard under the sunshine,
Or working deep through driving snow,
They know no limit,
Just how to give it.

The song is on the wind,
That bears our spirits high,
The wilderness brings freedom,
Which is the reason why,
This life we enjoy
And I am,
The Lonely Cowboy.

I remember riding with them,
And being left behind,
For I could not ride no further,
When my eyes ceased to shine,
They were beside me,
When my soul left me.

They hung my hat on the marker,
Which was placed upon this hill,
Where my soul prefers to wander,
As the beauty draws me still,
I see them riding,
As my spirit flies.

My song rides on this wind,
That bears my spirit high,
The wilderness brings freedom,
From Heaven’s beauty high,
The sweet song of joy,
Never again I am to be,
The Lonely Cowboy.

This is Life - For Brent and Melody Weinhandl

Dr. Weinhandl treating a patient from his wheelchair

One day I learned of an incredible story of a woman married to a paralyzed man.   He became paralyzed in an accident where he saved her life.  As faith and love are inextricable from each other, both could be strongly seen as he did not hesitate for a second in acting on her behalf.  Faith has brought answers to them each day as he strives to recover, and they still work together in the dental practice which they own.  In their trust of God and each other, they live an example that love overcomes any obstacle.  They live the knowledge that from love comes power, and from God comes love.  That is why I wrote.

I saw your face...
Your smile and charm,
Took my heart from harm,
As I felt your first embrace.

You held my hand,
And the stars did swirl,
As we entered the world,
As one to make a stand.

I never knew such strength in you I'd find,
Enough to leave my pain and fear behind,
Nothing else I have known could suffice,
For this is life.

You are my all...
For on that day,
You pushed me away,
When that structure did fall.

My love and light...
You paid the price,
And made the sacrifice,
Which has saved my life.

I never knew such strength in you I'd find,
Enough to leave my pain and fear behind,
Nothing else I have known could suffice,
For this is life.

A steadfast strength...
All through the years,
With my joys and fears,
You have loved me all the same.

When all seemed lost...
You did lift me up,
And you filled my cup,
To know life is worth the cost!

I never knew such strength in you I'd find,
Enough to leave my pain and fear behind,
Nothing else I have known could suffice,
For this is life.

The Shepherd and The Lamb - For Matt and Meagan

I dedicated this to and wrote this for our friends Matt and Meagan.  This is for anyone who has ever lost a child.  My prayer is, and I know Matt would pray the same, that anyone reading this would be comforted by the truth.  Though that child can not be held here on Earth, the child is always felt in our hearts because he or she lives on in Heaven.  If we are all in God's heart and bound by His love, then we can never truly be separated.   Not even death can overcome the power of love.

A wandering son,
Of a traveling man,
Who learned how to love,
In the warmth of God’s hand,
Who would show,
The strength he would know.

He met his true love,
And the light of his life,
She’s the fire in his soul,
Who would be his wife,
Never to part,
Seeing true from the heart.

Wandering the hills,
Over the Earth,
Finding our way,
From the moment of birth,
Never far from His hand,
Like the Shepherd and the Lamb.

The force of their love,
Strong from the start,
Filled up their home,
Bringing new hearts,
With sparkle in her eyes,
She carried Malachi.

One boy in his arms,
His wife by his side,
Blessed by the Lord,
Heart filled with pride,
A light to us all,
What could make him fall?

Wandering the hills,
Over the Earth,
Finding our way,
From the moment of birth,
Never far from His hand,
Like the Shepherd and the Lamb.

A sad day did come,
One heart went away,
In silence and pain,
No words he could say,
He kept his stand,
In faith he held their hands.

Yet God gave his word,
No lamb would be lost,
In love for his flock,
He paid the great cost,
He said, “Don’t fear.”
“Your little one is here.”

“His soul wandered here,
I reached out my hand,
Don’t grieve or fear,
You’re safe in my plan,
Never to roam,
My heart is your home.”

“With love as our bond,
There is no goodbye,
Together forever,
Is the reason why,
I am,
I am your Shepherd,
You’re my lamb.”
